Welcome to the web site of the University of Florida South East Alliance for Graduate Education and the Professoriate Program (SEAGEP). SEAGEP is a regional partnership that unites three major research institutions: the University of Florida, Clemson University and the University of South Carolina. Combined they offer prospective students a vast array of research opportunities across science technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) fields. SEAGEP is committed to enhancing the graduate education experience for students in STEM who are preparing for careers in academia. We offer a system of supports that include financial and professional development opportunities to ensure that students successfully complete the Ph.D. and have the skills they need to successfully make the transition from student to professor.

SEAGEP also offers graduate preparatory experiences for undergraduates to help prepare them for entering graduate school. These include research opportunities on all three campuses, as well as opportunities for prospective students to visit the partner campuses.

Faculty members are invited to participate in the SEAGEP Faculty Mentoring Workshop, and to benefit from the SEAGEP Post doc Program. We encourage faculty to develop research collaborations in Latin American and Caribbean Institutions through travel support. SEAGEP also works with faculty who are interested in actively recruiting a diverse research team.

We invite you to explore the various opportunities described throughout this web site, and encourage you to contact us to find out more about this exciting opportunity for those who hope to become the STEM faculty of the future.
